Meet Paul

Your Salmon Arm real estate specialist

After searching for properties across Canada Paul and his wife Sue moved to Blind Bay in 2009. They were attracted to this area by its natural beauty, spectacular scenery, pristine recreational features of Shuswap Lake, and local culture.

Sue and Paul quickly became involved with the social aspects of curling in Salmon Arm and Chase, golfing at Shuswap Lake Golf Club, events at the Cedar Center, community-building activities with the Shuswap Estates Community Association, and charitable work with the Canadian Cancer Society Relay for Life.

Prior to moving here, Paul gained an incredible level of experiences in sales, marketing, advertising, and education. Starting as a sales rep in a Johnson & Johnson company, by age 28 Paul was reporting to the President as Marketing Manager. In 1986, Paul founded Science & Medicine Canada and grew it into the largest medical education company in Canada.

Along the way, Paul was a Managing Director at a large international ad agency and founded his own ad agency and digital marketing company.

In 2012, Paul entered public service and was elected as Area C Director for the Columbia Shuswap Regional District. Paul lead a number of initiatives to benefit our community including the Area C Official Community Plan, Area C Liquid Waste Management Plan, Area C Recreational Needs Survey, Area C Parks Plan, Docks and Buoys Bylaw, Building Inspection, Area C Housing Needs Study, expansion of the Cedar Heights Water Treatment System, escheating and upgrading of the Sunnybrae Water Treatment System, and creation of the bulk water service in Sorrento-Blind Bay Park. As a strong parks proponent he helped spearhead improvements to Sunnybrae Park, Sorrento-Blind Bay Park, White Lake Park and Eagle Bay Park, and helped to create Mt Tuam Bike Park and walking trail. Paul Chaired  the Shuswap Watershed Council and Shuswap Tourism and Co-Chaired the CSRD Board. He participated in Shuswap Trail Roundtables and sat on the boards of the Salmon Arm Economic Development Society and Shuswap Community Futures. He co-founded the South Shuswap Housing Society and the South Shuswap Transportation Society and their South Shuswap Rides program. Paul lead in the development of the Shuswap Economic Development Society and the South Shuswap Non-Profit Network. He currently is President of the South Shuswap Transportation Society,  and member of the Strategic Planning Committee at Cedar Heights Community Association.

Paul takes great joy in doing things that benefit our community and its residents. Working hard, giving back and helping others has always been a mantra for Paul.

The transition to real estate seemed to be a natural career path for Paul given his marketing and advertising background and local government experience, and strong advocacy of the Shuswap and its unique lifestyle. Says Paul, “It’s very likely that I’m one of the biggest cheerleaders for the Shuswap as a great place to live.”
